CUSHION GUM
A thin sheet of calendered rubber compound supported on polythylene film wound in the form of a roll. It is used to fill in cavities in tread areas as well as covering exposed tyre cord after buffing. Usually a Natural rubber based compound having very good green strength and green tack. Commonly supplied in size of 0.79 mm thickness and 177.8 mm width. Supplied as 2 kgs rolls after packing individually in polythene bags and subsequently in cartons.
TREAD GUM
This is also a calendered sheet of rubber compound used to fill in tread areas that tread rubber cannot fill. Tread gum has higher modulus than cushion gum.
Usual size: Width 1.6 mm, Thickness 177.8 mm
Supplied in 2 kg rolls having packing same as that of cushion gum.
UNDER TREAD STRIPS [UTS]
Calendered rubber compound with good flex properties used under the tread when added thickness is required.
General size: Thickness 3.16 mm, Width 177.8 mm
Mode of packing 2 kgs rolls packed individually in polythene bags and severally in card board boxes.
CORD REPAIR FABRIC
Usually a calendered Nylon cord material used in manufacturing tyre repair patches.
BEAD REPAIR FABRIC
A calendered Nylon cord material.
