UNITED UNITECH OTR (off the road) TYRE TREADS
Unitech OTR [Off The Road] Tyre Treads, another prime product from United Rubber [P] Ltd With the induction of a larger diameter scroll extruder with its land mark mechanical sophistication, United Rubber has acquired the capability to produce large size low weight OTR Tyre treads in single piece. United Unitech OTR tyre treads are available up to a base width of 25″ [635 mm] and thickness of 2″ [51 mm]. These porosity free extrudates in single piece construction help the retreader cut down cost of labour and save valuable machine time. Coupled with the built in qualities of United Treads, Unitech OTR Treads possess the unique feature of having the lowest specific gravity, offering more length per kilogram of Tread Rubber.

SURFACE BLOOMING AND IT’S EFFECTS ON UNVULCANISED TREAD
WHAT IS BLOOMING
Due to migration of Sulphur to the surface of the Tread, Tread surfaces, get smeared with a very thin coating of elemental sulphur. This phenomenon of sulphur to migrate to surfaces of tread in storage is called blooming.
EFFECTS OF SULPHUR BLOOMING ON TREAD RUBBER-DIE SIZE
During the process of vulcanisation, the tread gets overcured on the outside and under cured on the inside. Over cure and undercure both facilitate faster tread wear.
THE SOLUTION
Non- blooming Die Size Treads from United Rubber Hot Process- Die size- Tread rubber is compounded only with high quality insoluble sulphur and this precludes chances for sulphur blooming. Besides the stringent temperature controls exerted during the mixing stage, warming stage and extrusion stages abundantly ensure non conversion of insoluble sulphur to soluble sulphur which is another cause for sulphur blooming.
MODE OF PACKING – DIE SIZE TREAD
United Die Size [Hot process] Treads are packed primarily in a polythene bag and subsequently in Laminated high density polyethylene woven fabric. This multiple packing precludes all chances for any foreign matter to come in contact with the green [unvulcanised] tread.
United Die size Treads are also packed in cartons after initially packing each roll in polyethene bag.
